General FAQ-Poker:
Where do I find information about the rules for the different Poker variations?
Select "Poker" from the main-menu bar and click on "Rules" at the left.

How can I play along?
Visit the Poker Lobby after you have started the Client-Software. You will find the various game-types and Poker variations, for ex. "Holdem", "Omaha", "7Stud" or "Tournament." Click on your choice. Choose a comfortable Ante. A double-clicssk on a table from the listing will lead you to that table. There you can either sit in an empty seat, or - if the table is full - sign the waiting list. You can also just watch the game in progress.
What happens if I lose my Internet connection during a Poker-Hand?
If you can re-connect on time, you are allowed additional time to think. Should you not make it, but still have a "Free-Cancellation" available, you will be considered a "All-In." In this case, you can only lose what you had invested in the pot prior to the disconnection. Accordingly, you can only win this sum from your opponents, if you hand is the best at Showdown. If you have no "Free-Cancellation" available, and cannot reconnect in time, then you lose the money you put in the pot. Please note that "Free-Cancellations" have no effect on play-money tables.

Can I receive so-called "Hand Histories?"
Yes. Go to the Lobby to the menu-point "Extras" > "Request Hand Histories." You have 3 different possibilities:
1. You can have a Hand-History of a certain number of previous hands (min.1, max. 100.)
2. You can get a Hand-History for a specific Hand-Number.
3. You can get a complete Hand-History for a Multi-Table-Tournament or a Satellite- Tournament.
For Sit&Go Tournaments please use one of the first two options.

Are McPoker employees allowed to play at the site?
No. Our employees are strictly forbidden to play either Backgammon or Poker at our Site.

How do I register for a Poker tournament?

on the tournement of your choice from the listing. You will be led to a Tournament-Lobby, where you can register for a tournament.

Yes, you can, and we invite you to do so.

What are the chat rules?
Just be nice and polite. Please only chat in English. He who ignores these rules consistently must reckon with appropriate measures from our side.

Can I play at McPoker without real-money?
Yes you can! You are more than welcome to visit our play money tables. There is also a private-host for you there. However, you cannot select from the play money tables.

What does it cost at McPoker to play for real-money at the tables?
We charge a small fee called "Rake," for the provision of our game service. The amount of the Rake corresponds to your Ante and for the difference between your ELO rating and the ELO rating of your opponent. For details refer to: Rake Table

What are Free Cancellations?
To protect our players from the unfair behavior of others, for ex. the intentional disconnection from the internet, we have established the principle of "Free Cancellations." The highest number of Free Cancellations is 2. Every time your lose your connection and cannot return on time, you lose one of your Free Cancellations. You can only reset your number of Free Cancellations back to two once every 24 hours. As soon as you have no more Free Cancellations available, you're at a disadvantage, because the money you have invested in the pot is not safe if you lose your internet connection.

How well are the cards shuffled?
Better than any human dealer could ever shuffle them. McPoker uses ISAAC, a reliable pseudo-randomizing generator that operates quickly, efficiently and above all cryptographically secure. Although ISAAC has been on the market for 10 years, there has been no known successful attack which jeopardized the practical security of the algorithm. It is absolutely impossible to predict the order of the random numbers. Our card-shuffling algorithm uses the random numbers generated by ISAAC to produce completely unpredictable shuffling results. For further information, please see our security pages.
